Want to try Pebble?

The Pebble system integrates seamlessly with the Boogie Beat website, providing an online booking and payment portal which is tailored to the needs of the various users.

Earlier this year, we welcomed Boogie Beat Movement and Music to the Pebble family. With a growing number of franchises, and demand coming from a range of different settings, Owner and Director Hannah Cavalier decided to team up with Pebble. The result is a better user experience, reduced admin and significant time savings.

Learning to Boogie – the history of Boogie Beat

Boogie Beat offers energetic and fun sessions that combine music and dance with carefully structured learning. The business first started back in 2000, when founders Nicky and Lisa ran back-to-back classes on a Saturday in Cheddar. In 2015, after having her two children, Hannah Cavalier was on the hunt for an opportunity that would fit around being a mum – and the Boogie Beat franchise was the perfect fit.

Hannah explains, “I was an area manager in retail and was often out of the house between 6am and 8pm. The timing just didn’t work with young kids. I had been to lots of baby groups while they were small, and had grown up with a love of music and dance, so I started to wonder if perhaps I could lead one of the groups that I had enjoyed as a mum.”

In her search for the right opportunity, Hannah attended a Boogie Beat class and, in her own words “fell in love.” Hannah was able to fit her classes around school runs and nursery hours. Hannah’s passion for Boogie Beat was clear, and, in 202, founders Nicky and Lisa offered her the opportunity to buy the business from them.

The sessions are full of traditional fairy tales and nursery rhymes set to music, using props such as scarves, bean bags, bubble machines, and parachutes to get children engaged. As well as the popular parent and child sessions, Boogie Beat also offer workshops in nursery and key stage one settings, parties and even multigenerational sessions where youngsters join residents for uplifting sessions in care homes.

Pebble: a collaborative approach to digitisation

With demand growing, managing payments and onboarding new clients was time-consuming, so Hannah was keen to find a way to digitise the process and reduce time spent on admin. As a growing brand, user experience was also key.

Hannah explains, “I had been using a competitor system, but I found parts of it clunky and all the customer support was online. So, when the Pebble team reached out for a chat, I was more than happy to try the system. The support we’ve had has been fantastic. We have a dedicated Customer Success Manager and he is always keen to help. The key for me is how responsive the team is. They want the system to serve our needs and the needs of small businesses like ours, which means they are incredibly responsive to feedback and take the time to explore and implement improvements that have a real impact.”

Less admin, more time to Boogie

The Boogie Beat business model means that people from a range of settings – childminders, early years and parents – have slightly different needs when booking sessions. The Pebble system integrates seamlessly with the Boogie Beat website, providing an online booking and payment portal which is tailored to the needs of the various users. Working collaboratively, the Pebble team have built landing pages and functionality which allows Hannah to offer parents and nurseries a user experience more tailored to their needs.

As well as taking payments and booking classes, the system also streamlines administration by enabling users to agree to T&Cs and sign paperwork such as photo-consent forms.

“Ultimately, as the Owner of Boogie Beat, my goal is to grow the business. Our franchisees are provided with lots of support to help them succeed, from lesson plans and videos to marketing support. The Pebble platform is another string to our bow. It frees up my time to focus on other areas of the business and supports the franchisees. We have also had some great feedback from our customers, who have commented on how easy, intuitive and interactive it is. As Pebble grows, we anticipate that the marketing investment in the Pebble online booking platform will drive queries from other areas, which will help us to extend our footprint.”

Hannah concludes, “The great thing is, the investment we’ve made hasn’t been a huge one, and the time savings have been really significant. It’s been a great choice for us. I’d recommend it to any providers who are looking for an easy-to-use booking system with fantastic customer support.”
